Funeral services for Betty Jean King, 90 of Lake St. John, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Mark Richardson and Bro. Dennis Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery, Winnsboro, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Betty Jean King was born on Friday, January 11, 1929 in Rayville, LA. and passed away Wednesday, May 08, 2019 in Ferriday, LA. She was a resident of Lake St. John, a founding member of Lake Shore Baptist Church and a member of Lake St. John Community Baptist Church. Betty was a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years where she touched many lives and was a volunteer at Heritage Manor for 20 years. She was a CPA for over 60 years, the Tax Collecter for the Town of Waterproof, LA for 30 years and was a member of the Lake St. John's Water Board. Betty loved Gardening, spending time with family and friends, and she loved beautiful Lake St. John. She was preceded in death by Father- Ellis Howard Chadderdon; Mother- Clara Stone Chadderdon; Husband of 66 years- Clifford Randolph King; 1 Brother- Raymond Chadderdon; 3 Sisters- Dorothy Chadderdon Brooke, Clara Lee Chadderdon Larson and Marjorie Ann Chadderdon Campbell. She is survived by Son- Christopher Howard King of Lake St. John, LA; Daughter- Connie King Moore and her husband Doug of Start, LA. She is also survived by 4 Grandchlidren-Nikki Lofton King married to Jeremiah King of Winnsboro, LA; together they have 4 children, Kaylee, Lilly, Kason and Logan. Will Hawsey and his wife Cecily Ann of Chattanooga, TN; together they have 3 children, Ebin Ray, Hayden Cash and Harrison. Meagan Bourgeois married to Justin Bourgeois of Dutchtown, LA; together they have 1 child, Lucy. Ashley Maddox Married to Jerry Maddox of Houston, TX Pallbearers will be Ricky Rowlin, John Fudickar, Jeremiah King, Jimmy Harper, Victor Cross, and Jay Godfrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ellis Ray Chadderdon, Mickey Chadderdon, Jerry Sharp, Sr., and Jerry Wooten. A special thanks to Dr. Kevin Ingram, Dr. Geoffrey Flattmann, Promise Hospital, Riverland Medical Center and Encompass Health.
