Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Sicily Island, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Carolyn "Marguerita" Krause was born on Monday, May 28, 1951 in Ferriday, LA and passed away Sunday, December 02, 2018 at LA Extended Care Hospital. Marguerita graduated from Sicily Island High School in 1969, then pursued her teaching degree at Northeast Louisiana University for her Bachelor's Degree, later her Master's +30, and received her Principal & Leadership. Her career took her back to Sicily Island, teaching at Martin Jr. High School then to North Port Middle School in Port St. Lucie, FL. She returned to Sicily Island to teach and in 2003 became Principal. She was a Cheer Coach for many years, Grant writer for Catahoula Parish Schools and taught Adult Education Evening Classes in Sicily Island on her off time. She was a strong supporter of the Sicily Island Community and School, and a #1 Tiger Fan being the back bone to the Athletic Program. Marguerita was an Educator for 45 years. She was also a member of Sicily Island First United Methodist Church and an avid animal lover. . She was preceded in death by her parents- William Prentiss Carter, Carolyn Rogers Carter and her brother- Will Carter. Survivors include: her husband of 52 years - Henry Roy Krause of Sicily Island, LA; 2 daughters- Karla McGee & her husband James of Harrisonburg, LA and Katie Nappier & her husband Shane of Sicily Island, LA; 2 brothers- Roger Carter & his wife Lise of Nivarre, FL and Pat Carter & his wife Cynthia of Greenville, TX; 2 granddaughters- Margo Griffin & her husband Daniel of West Monroe, LA and Morgan Reeves & her husband Thomas of Monroe, LA; 5 great-grandchildren- Sawyer Griffin, Anna Griffin, and Jackson Reeves; and also Melina Parker and Stevi Parker ( God-children of Katie & Shane Nappier). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Pallbearers will be Thomas Reeves, Daniel Griffin, Joey Evans, Jerel Evans, Al Krause, Jody Bondurant, Anthony Carter, Mark Krause, and Ron Bruit. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sicily Island High School Football and Basketball teams. Donations may be made to the Marguerita Krause Memorial Scholarship fund. The family will receive friends at Sicily Island High School Auditorium from 6:00 PM til 9:00 PM, Tuesday, December 04, 2018.
